- How does it work?
- Either take a short quiz about the person you are shopping for, or describe them in your own words. We send a structured prompt to Claude (Anthropic's AI), match the suggested ideas against a curated catalog, and present three to nine gifts split into budget, mid-range, and premium tiers.
- Is it free?
- Yes. PlanMyPresent is free to use. We do not charge for recommendations and there is no paid tier. If you buy something through one of our product links, we may earn a small affiliate commission from the retailer at no extra cost to you.
- Are the recommendations actually personalized?
- Yes. Every recommendation is generated fresh from your specific input: relationship, age, occasion, interests, budget, and any free-text details you provide. Two different people answering with different details get genuinely different gift lists.
- Where do the gift ideas come from?
- Claude proposes gift concepts (traits and price tiers) based on your answers. We then match those concepts against a hand-curated catalog of products to surface specific items you can actually buy.
- Do I need an account?
- No account is required to get recommendations. You can optionally save a result to revisit later, which uses a passwordless email magic-link sign-in.
- Where do I buy the gifts?
- Each recommendation links to a relevant Amazon search so you can compare current prices, reviews, and shipping options yourself rather than being locked to a single seller.
